چکیده

Abstract The present paper seeks to study the diversity and ant community composition of some Algerian islands. This is considered as first exhaustive survey species islands since 1957. was carried out in spring summer seasons between April July two years 2014 2015. Vegetation richness, island area, mainland distance, elevation variables were measured for each island. Relative abundance (RA), frequency occurrence (FO), well richness (S), Shannon’s index (H), equitability (E) used compare pattern among Patterns structure compared sampling through ordination analysis (nonmetric multidimensional scaling [NMDS]). SIMPER using a Bray–Curtis similarity matrix performed determine contribution dissimilarities Canonical correspondence (CCA) highlight impact environmental on community. All analyses computed by PAST software. Two methods (pitfall trap hand collecting) used, which led identification 1039 individuals belonging 16 species. Geographic differences in effects of experimental warming on ant species diversity and community composition

Ecological communities are being reshaped by climatic change. Losses and gains of species will alter community composition and diversity but these effects are likely to vary geographically and may be hard to predict from uncontrolled ‘‘natural experiments’’. In this study, we used open-top warming chambers to simulate a range of warming scenarios for ground-nesting ant communities at a northern...

Bacterial community composition and diversity in an ancestral ant fungus symbiosis.

Fungus-farming ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae, Attini) exhibit some of the most complex microbial symbioses because both macroscopic partners (ants and fungus) are associated with a rich community of microorganisms. The ant and fungal microbiomes are thought to serve important beneficial nutritional and defensive roles in these symbioses. While most recent research has investigated the bacterial...

Community composition and diversity of zooplankton in the northwest Persian Gulf

Survey on zooplankton composition was studied during June 2015 to March 2016, by selecting six stations along the coastal waters of Bushehr (the Northwest Persian Gulf). Twenty four zooplankton taxa were identified, and the different zooplankton groups represented twenty-one families. Copepoda was recorded with the most abundance (53.30 %) followed by Malacostraca (32.87 %), which in turn was f...

Diversity and Community Composition of Vertebrates in Desert River Habitats

Animal species are seldom distributed evenly at either local or larger spatial scales, and instead tend to aggregate in sites that meet their resource requirements and maximise fitness. This tendency is likely to be especially marked in arid regions where species could be expected to concentrate at resource-rich oases. In this study, we first test the hypothesis that productive riparian sites i...
